Plus, you won't have to worry about that mysterious soda/candy/popcorn mixture that is always on the floor of the theatre. Check out http://www.transparentproductions.com/ for all the Fishfest ticket info, but some tix are just $9.59, plus service charge. Whoo hoo!!! Call me crazy, but I think that's pretty awesome for a day of mzc from TobyMac, Jeremy Camp, BarlowGirl, Brandon Heath, OC Supertones, and more! Plus, there's a kids stage, and Pastor Greg Laurie will be delivering a special message. We hope you can join us on June 12th!!!
Dallas, who is almost six months old, has been having fun making new sounds. He has started blowing raspberries, and he gets so excited that he sprays spit all over the place ("My eye!!!"). The cats now run for cover when he gets going! He also likes to hold hands, and he gives kisses by placing an open mouth on your cheek, lol. He is so sweet and innocent that it makes me cry on a daily basis.
Boma is so precious he also made me cry! This little boy is 5, and in our Fish Village in Zambia. I want to ask you to become his World Vision sponsor. You can see his pic and read his bio right now when you click the World Vision banner on our homepage. Maybe you share his b-day of February 13th. Maybe, like Boma, your little boy is wearing overalls right now. Boma's outfit, however, looks like it should be thrown away--it is just filthy and tattered and stretched out...no way should anyone be wearing this, but it is probably the nicest thing he owns. If you sponsor him, World Vision will make sure that sponsorship takes care of his most pressing needs....everything from food and clean water to medical care and clothes that are clean and that fit. Won't you please help him? His little pic and bio have been up for months now, and he has been passed over time and time again. And if you can't help, please please please pray that someone's heart would be touched and that they can sponsor him. Thank you so much! God bless you, and have a wonderful weekend.

IS IT WRONG....
...that I sampled Dallas's baby food and LIKED it? He was really enjoying some organic Apples, and I thought I would try a spoonful. YUM!!!! Why buy and wash the fruits and veggies, when I can just enjoy them already made, lol! Did you ever do this with YOUR kids?
Matthew West had a birthday last weekend, and he asked his Twitter followers to guess his age. Well, the guesses ranged from 17-57. :-) His actual age? 33! You can follow The Fish on Twitter: www.twitter.com/kfsh
I heard a story about a mom who heard a tragic story involving a child. She literally screamed out to God, "Why don't you DO something?" What she heard back was, "Why don't YOU do something?" So she started an orphanage!!! What can YOU do today? Maybe you can sponsor Thomas, who is 3 (b-day is March 19) and lives in Zambia, through World Vision. You can see his bio when you click the World Vision banner on our homepage to see his precious picture and read his bio. Look at his little soccer jersey...look at his little furrowed brow...and maybe you will be moved to change his life. And if you can't, please pray that someone will.

TOBYMAC'S NEW LINE!!!
Okay, here's one more reason why TobyMac rocks! He's started a line to honor Mothers, which was inspired by his wife, Amanda. It's called The Bomb Mom (loves!!!), and it features everything from maternity t-shirts to blinged-out coffee mugs. Do YOU have your tix to see TobyMac at Fishfest on June 12th yet?
Not that long ago, I was saying that Francesca Battistelli would make a great mom. Well...did you happen to see her on the Dove Awards on Sunday? There was no hiding that baby bump! Congrats to Franny and her hubby. She is a gor-juss mama-to-be! Hey, TobyMac should give her some gear. :-)
Are you following us on Twitter? www.twitter.com/kfsh Natalie Grant sent out the cutest tweet about her daughter. Natalie had made dinner, and Gracie, who's 3, was like, "These carrots are too healthy. I need some chips!"
How can we pray for you? lara@thefish959.com
Tiwine is looking for a World Vision sponsor! You can see her by clicking the World Vision banner on our homepage and scrolling through the kids. We were looking for a sponsor for her birthday, which was April 18th, but unfortunately...no one responded. Will you open your heart to Tiwine? She is only 9 years old, and living in desperate poverty in Zambia. I want to share something that the Big Daddy Weave guys said. They were talking about how they went on a World Vision trip, and up to that point they had thought that giving a dollar a day to sponsor a child couldn't possibly do much. Well, they were blown away by how lives were being transformed, and they realized something: God isn't looking for the person with the most money, but he IS looking for the person who will give what they have. When we give what we have, miracles happen.

AWESOME SONG!!!
If you haven't heard us play "There Is A Way" by NewWorldSon yet, you will soon! This song sounds like nothing else we're playing, and it has such a wonderful message about love:
But there is a way,
There is a spark,
There is a hope that you can hold on to.
There is a life line come to the rescue,
Just like a hand that's waiting for you.
And if you beleive in this I promise that you won't be alone.
There is a way, the truth, and the life, and the way.
Todd Smith (of the group Selah) and his wife Angie have an incredible story to tell. Their 4th child, Audrey, was deemed "incompatible with life" when the couple went in for a routine ultrasound. They were urged to terminate the pregnancy, but Angie carried Audrey to 32 weeks. This precious baby girl lived for almost three hours, and they were able to shower her with love the entire time. Angie has written a book called I Will Carry You, and if you are struggling with grief, I encourage you to read it and see how God was right there with this family every moment. You can also hear an interview with them tonight on Haven Today, which is on our sister station 99.5 KKLA at 9:30. You can also listen at http://www.haventoday.org/. God really put it on my heart to share this in my blog and on my show...maybe this is meant for you.
Did I mention that my son Dallas is teething? He is cutting not one, but TWO teeth!!! I can't wait to see him with bottom teeth. You know what? God has done a work in my heart, and there is no more complaining about the sleep I"m not getting, how busy I am, etc. After hearing so many stories of families that have lost children (like Todd and Angie), I treasure every tired, wonderful, crazy busy moment with my baby, and every night I thank God for giving me another day with him. Okay, I might talk about how stressed I am, but it's not meant in a complaining way.
How about reaching out to a child in Zambia, in our Fish village of Makungwa? Bertha is going to be 11 on May 9th, and would love nothing more that for YOU to become her sponsor. You can see her pic and read her bio when you click on the World Vision banner in our Station Events section. Bertha has a life of desperately looking for food and clean water, but you can change that with a simple sponsorship that costs about $1 a day. And maybe you could even send her her very first birthday present!

MONDAY MONDAY!!!
Thanks for starting your week with us!!! Let me know where you listen and who you listen with: lara@thefish959.com. And we love it when you listen with your kids. I wanted to share a quote that I love, and truly understand now that I"m a mom:
"Having a child is to have your heart go walk outside your body."
Here's my heart and my whole life right here, putting his pacifier in by himself. :-)
Are you already looking forward to the weekend? Let's be honest...who isn't???!!! The LA Galaxy takes on Philadelphia on Saturday at the Home Depot Center in Carson, and you can check out the cool family ticket deals in our Station Events section.
We've got some AWESOME videos from Fishfest Artists like Jeremy Camp, Tyrone Wells, BarlowGirl and more on our Fish Facebook Page. Do you have your tickets yet? They are going fast; the show sold out last year, so don't wait too long to grab YOURS. Did you see the Dove Awards on GMC last night? How awesome was Fishfest Artist TobyMac with "Funky Jesus Music?!"
Matthews is my World Vision Child today! You can see his picture by clicking on the World Vision banner in our Station Events section, and clicking through 'til you see him. He is going to be 11 on May 10th, and I'm thinking that an amazing present for him....would be for YOU to sponsor him. Have you been thinking about becoming a Child Sponsor? Look at his picture...look at his little ears that are sticking out....he is precious and so sweet and just heartbreaking, all at once. I pray that he will touch your heart, that as you read his bio there will be a connection with him, and that you will be moved to change his life. Can you imagine the joy in his heart when he finds out that he has been chosen? YAY!!! Thank you for even considering him.

YAY!!!!
I can't even express what is in my heart right now...I am so thankful for YOU!!! You allowed God to use you yesterday to bless the people of Haiti, and now 50 families (!!!) that lost everything in the earthquake will be moving into safe, secure, beautiful new Food for the Poor homes!!!! And these homes are built STRONG to withstand earthquakes and hurricanes (the rainy season and hurricane season are right around the corner). We shared so many stories yesterday: the single mom who WAS going to give birth to her baby in the mud and filth of the camp she has been living in...the young boy who ran into his house when the earthquake happened to find his mom, only to have the house collapse. His mom died, he had his right hand amputated, and now he has a skin disease from the unsanitary conditions in the camp where he and his dad are living. Life is going to change for these two families, and so many more, because of what YOU did yesterday. They are getting a message of HOPE, and God's love, and hearing that people they've never even met care about them and are praying for them. And a special shout out to all the moms (and Steve!) who responded to my mom challenge to build a house for Annalise. We did it together!!!! May God bless you for sacrificing, and for trusting Him with your gift. And btw...if you haven't given yet but want to, look for the FFP link on our homepage.
Well, after five months, my son Dallas is finally interested in our cats! We have helped him pet them before, always moving his hand slowly and saying, "Soft...gentle." However, yesterday he saw Lily saunter by and reached out on his own and GRABBED her fur!!! Thankfully, Lily is mellow, overweight, and moves slowly, so nothing happened, but it made me realize that I now have to watch him every second for things he could grab, pull, or put in his mouth. The babyproofing continues this weekend with covers for sharp corners and toilet lid locks!
Who can we say hi to on the air for you? Let me know at lara@thefish959.com and I'll do my best to give 'em a shout out. And tell us why you love them, too. ;-) Mark and Alicia are visiting from Houston, and having fun exploring Pasadena.
Fishfest tix are on sale and going fast!!! If a day with Jeremy Camp, BarlowGirl, TobyMac, Pastor Greg Laurie, OC Supertones, Thousand Foot Krutch, and tons more sounds like fun, check out www.fish959.com for tix.
Have fun tomorrow night with Joel and Victoria Osteen! We've talked to a lot of families that are going, and we hope you are so blessed by what you hear. Maria is making it a girls night, and taking all 4 of her daughters.
We hope YOU have a beautiful, blessed, relaxing weekend!!!

FISH LISTENERS ARE THE BEST!!!
We have the kindest listeners in the world, and we are so blessed. Yvonne sent this after hearing me talk about Matt from Sanctus Real. He and his wife just found out that their son has a heart defect, and Yvonne's son, Bryce, has had numerous surgeries on his heart.
Lara,
Just heard you mention a family that found out their newborn has heart defects. Let them know that there are families out there who have been through want they are going through. Let them know there are many heart groups out there...saving little hearts, mended little hearts, and groups on facebook. They are not alone in this. Remember my Bryce had his third heart surgery July 6, 2009 and is doing great.
Will you keep Matt's family, and Yvonne and Bryce, in your prayers? Thank you for joining with me in prayer for healing and health and peace for all of them.
It seems like Haiti has really faded from the headlines lately, but the need is still great after the earthquake. Our wonderful friend Sydney from Food For The Poor is joining us tomorrow to share how we can help rebuild Haiti. I think this is such an exciting opportunity, because we know that Food For The Poor is an organization that we can completely trust--the money that you donate will go where help is needed the most, as FFP partners with local churches to make a difference. Will you pray about what you can do to help tomorrow? We are asking God for a true miracle...that hearts would be touched and lives would be changed tomorrow.
Are you following us on Twitter? We'll have lots of announcements about Fishfest between now and June 12th, and if you follow us you'll never miss out on anything. :-) www.twitter.com/kfsh
If you have kids, I bet you really notice how fast time goes by! Dallas, who is five months now, grabbed his pacifier yesterday and popped it in his mouth all by himself, which made me cry. I was like, he doesn't even need his mommy anymore!
I hope you are having an amazing day!!!

BABY'S FIRST WORD
A few days ago I was talking about how Dallas (here he is striking a JC Penney catalog pose while lounging in his dolphin top and pants) babbled "mama!" Carol shared this great story of her daughter's first word:
Hi Lara,
My oldest daughter was seven months old – I brought her on a business trip to Hawaii. My boss and I were eating lunch with Cambria in her high chair on a beautiful golf course in Kauai. I gave Cambria (my daughter) a roll to munch on and she began choking (scary!!!). In the midst of her coughing she said, “Mama.” I was so excited, I turned to everyone in the restaurant and asked, “Did you hear that? She said ‘Mama’?” I’m sure they thought I was nuts!
BTW – she was just fine!!! In fact, today she’s an account rep for the radio station in Nevada! Talking just fine!
I LOVE to hear your stories! Email me at lara@thefish959.com. Today my question is: As a busy mom, how do you save time? Since I never get my nails done anymore, I use a sharpie to color in the chips in my polish, and sometimes eat a bag of microwave popcorn for dinner.
Fishfest tix are on sale and going FAST!!!! We have three stages again this year: The main stage, the edge/rock stage, and the kids stage. There is truly something for everyone in the family, so I hope you will check out the lineup (TobyMac!!! Oc Supertones!!! Pastor Greg Laurie!!! And more!!!) and grab your tix to join us on June 12 at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Irvine.
MercyMe's new CD, The Generous Mr. Lovewell, is out in May. Isn't "All Of Creation" awesome?! Anyway, this Mr. Lovewell is a fictional character, but he already has quite the following on twitter and facebook!
IF you've got some free time today, remember that you can watch TONS of Christian Mzc Videos on our site!
Will you check out Boma's pic and bio on our site? You click on the World Vision banner on our homepage. He's in our Fish Village in Zambia, and he is looking for a sponsor. He is only 5, and he is wearing an outfit that tattered and dirty and doesn't fit him. What if your child had ONE outfit to wear, and he had to wear it as it became soiled and full of holes, until it fell off of him? If you sponsor Boma, he'll receive things like nutritious meals, access to clean water, educational opportunities, medical care, and maybe his first clean, new outfit ever. I pray that God will touch your heart as you look at Boma, and that you will be the one to change the course of his life and give him and his family hope.

DO U HAVE YOUR FISHFEST TIX YET?
Fishfest tix went on sale on Saturday!!! Did you buy some? Are you planning to? We hope that you will join us for TobyMac, Jeremy Camp, BarlowGirl, Brandon Heath, OC Supertones, Pastor Greg Laurie, and more!!! How nice is it that you can see everyone on ONE day, with ONE ticket, ONE time to park, etc. And BTW....if you follow us on Twitter of become a fan on Facebook, you'll be the FIRST to know about Fishfest announcements. :-) AND you can now listen 24/7...anywhere you go....on your Iphone or Blackberry...with our FREE Fish Apps! Look for 'em on our homepage.
Do you listen in the car? At work every day? At lunch? Thank you! We love to hear how you found The Fish, and how songs have touched you. You can email your stories to me at lara@thefish959.com. And please let us know how we can pray for you!
I saw a GREAT shirt that I would love to get for my son, Dallas. It says, "Mom's having a bad day. Call 1-800-Grandma."
And speaking of bad days...I hope you are having a WONDERFUL Monday! But....a new study has found that simply having a bad hair day can wreck a woman's WHOLE day! What do you think? Do you agree? And what about if every day is a bad hair day, like in my case? :-)
Have a special event coming up where you'll be going out to dinner? Check out our Half-Price Deal Of The Week!!! You can get $50 gift certificates to some of the top restaurants in SoCal for a mere $25.
I was at the Dream Center yesterday for service, and the message was: You are more than who you have become. It is never too late to forgive those who have hurt you, and it is never too late to be free. My prayer today is that this positive music would remind you of who you are in Christ, and strengthen you so that you would go out today and make a difference in this world. And btw...if you ever go to service at Dream Center/Angelus Temple, grab a bite at the Brite Spot next door. I had brunch with my friends Jodi, Alena, and Jackie, and the portions are so big and yummy that we could have all split 2 dishes.

WANNA SAVE A FEW $$$ ON FISHFEST TIX?
Tix are on sale tomorrow at 10 a.m. to the general public through Ticketmaster. CONGRATS if you got yours today in our presale!
Our Street Team will be at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Irvine Box Office on Saturday from 10 A – 2 P, and if you stop by the box office you will save a little bit on the fees (it varies on each ticket, but it is slightly less when you buy at the box office).
And in addition to the tix going on sale, there are so many fun things to do over the next 48 hours: Bob Shaw will be at RSM Honda....BWD will be at Golf 'N Stuff in Norwalk for the Battle of the Bands....America's Family Pet Expo at the OC Fairgrounds...The LA Galaxy game at the Home Depot Center in Carson....Kutless at Newport Mesa Church....check out our Station Events section for details on everything!
What do your kids do that just makes you melt? I LIVE for Dallas giving me a big grin first thing in the morning when I pop my head over the side of his crib. He looks at me like, "It's YOU!" :-) And btw...I recently found myself comforting the mom of a 4-week-old baby and reassuring her that it's okay and normal to feel overwhelmed, and that gradually it's going to get easier.

JUST BECAUSE...
There's nothing like a pic of a dog in sunglasses to make you smile. :-) This is my friend Alma's dog, Brownie. And don't forget that the America's Family Pet Exp is on this weekend at the OC Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa!!!
FISHFEST PRESALE!!!
It's tomorrow, and I think there's still time to rsvp and get the password. Find the Fish on Facebook, rsvp, and then watch for a password that will be sent out later today. By getting tix thru the presale, you have access to the best seats at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre. :-) Tix go on sale to everyone else on Saturday. Although...anywhere you sit, it's going to be an amazing day with TobyMac, Jeremy Camp, BarlowGirl, Brandon Heath, Thousand Foot Krutch, and more!
Have you ever been caught singing at the top of your lungs in the car? I was sitting in traffic on the 405 (shocker), only to look to my right to see the guy next to me giving me a thumbs up. :-) However, I think the only reason I got a thumbs up was because he couldn't actually hear me!
The Christian Comedy All-Stars are coming to the First Church of the Nazarene of Pasadena tomorrow night! And hey--who couldn't use a laugh after tax day?! Michael Jr., Scott Wood, and more will be there, and it's a fully family-friendly event. You can find ticket info on our sister station's site: www.kkla.com.
My son Dallas said "mama!" Well...kind of. He was babbling like crazy, and what came out was, "ooooooohhhhhhhmaaaaaaaamaaaaaaaa." But I'll take it! Dada is now working on getting him to say that, lol. What was YOUR child's first word? Let me know at lara@thefish959.com.
How did you hear about The Fish? Have you listened since day one? Maybe someone at church told you about us? We are so glad that you are here, and hope that the music is a blessing during a busy day.
I want to share an email with you that our sister station, The Fish in Atlanta, received. Would you keep this family in prayer? I don't know how you ever get over something like this, but with God we know that all things are possible, including peace.
Loveness is my World Vision child today! This precious little girl is in our Fish village in Zambia, and has been looking for a sponsor for a long time now. You can see her pic and bio when you click on the World Vision banner on our homepage...scroll through until you see her. She's five, her b-day is January 29th, and she's listed in satisfactory health. Look at her sweet little face--she has dark circles at the age of FIVE. Look at that threadbare top she is wearing. We can't take her out of the desperate poverty that she lives in, but we can make sure that her life is a little easier. A World Vision sponsorship means that Loveness will get the medical care she needs, access to clean water, food, and so much more. And that all happens for about $1 a day!!! And did I mention she loves to play with dolls? Maybe you can send her a doll (probably her first new toy ever!) if you sponsor her! And if you can't, please pray that even now God is touching the heart of someone that is able to change her life. Thank you!

On Good Friday, we received a phone call that no one would ever want… It was 5:37 in the morning when I answered the phone. It was the 911 Center in the county where my husband and I live and both work as law enforcement officers. They told me that my in-law’s was on fire, and that I really needed to call the Fire Chief on scene. I woke my husband up and got the kids ready so that we could be on our way. When I called the Fire Chief the first time, he asked me what vehicles should be at the house. I told him, and then he asked if they could have gone out of town with someone, or if they would possibly be staying at someone’s house. I said no, because my husband and his father had plans that day, as did his mother and I. Of course, we were thinking that it wasn’t so bad – just a kitchen fire, or they woke up and smelled smoke. Nothing that bad, really, just a “better safe than sorry” kind of call. I called the Fire Chief back to give him the layout of the house, so that the firemen could maneuver safely and get to them. That’s when he told me that there was no living room, no bedrooms, no kitchen; it was gone. Then he again asked me if there was any possible way that they weren’t home. I told him no. He said then that I needed to prepare my husband for what he was going to see when we got there.
When we arrived, it was just as the Fire Chief explained. It took them over 5 hours to get the blaze out and render it safe enough for them to begin the search. Eventually, they called in the cadaver dogs, who located first my mother-in-law, then my father-in-law. They were found together, 3 – 10 feet from the exit door. The unthinkable was true. Our hopes for their safety were finally ended in that moment. Then came the worst part…telling our little boys, ages 7 and 4, that their Nana and Papa were gone!
The next few days were so surreal! We began planning his parent’s funeral, and I just kept thinking – how? How could this happen? How could this be real? This doesn’t happen to us! The worst of it is that my husband buried BOTH of his parents the day after his birthday. The day of the funeral also happened to have been his mother’s birthday.
I turned on the radio, which pretty much stays on 104.7, while we were on our way to one of the myriad of appointments and heard the song “Praise You In This Storm” by Casting Crowns. All I could think was how appropriate! And that became my anthem! I also heard Revelation by Third Day, I Still Believe by Jeremy Camp, and a host of others. The only way I made it through was to listen to the music you guys played over the last week! It kept reminding me that, regardless of where we are, we are to praise Him. And that, no matter the circumstances, He is still in control, He knows EXACTLY what is going on in the lives of each and every one of His children, and He is right beside us, holding on to us in love.
I just wanted to let you know that you DO make a difference! God has a plan to use this radio station to touch lives, not only to spread the gospel, but to give comfort, encouragement and strength to His children. Thank you for doing what you do, for believing that God has a purpose for you, and for following that lead! You will never know what comfort you brought our family through this devastating tragedy!
In His Love,
John and Marie Please, please hug your loved ones a little tighter tonight, and let them know how much you love them.Loveness is my World Vision child today! Thank you!

BABYPROOFING!!!
It's the new game that's sweeping the nation: Are you smarter than a 5-month-old? I, apparently, am not. I was out for a few hours running errands, and my husband started babyproofing by putting outlet covers (the plates, not the plugs) all over the house. I came back and couldn't figure out how to plug in the vacuum, lol. It is crazy to think Dallas is going to be CRAWLING soon!!! What did YOU do to babyproof? lara@thefish959.com.
Our Fishfest Presale is Friday, and those special passwords that get you in will be going out TOMORROW. That is our tax day gift to you. :-) If you haven't rsvp'd for Fishfest (that's how you get the password) yet, do it now on our Fish Facebook Page.
Do you listen at lunch? While you work? While you hang with the kids or homeschool? Let me know so I can give you a shout! Thank you so much for making us a part of your day.
Are you getting married this summer? CONGRATS! Here are some song ideas:
When God Made You, He Must Have Been Thinking About Me--Newsong and Natalie Grant
Because You Loved Me--Ana Laura
In Your Eyes--Jill Parr
You And Me--Lifehouse

Have you ever sponsored a World Vision child? I heard someone talking about how basically all of us wouldn't hesitate to take our shoes off and give them to a child in front of us with bare, bleeding feet. However, sacrificing the cost of those shoes to take care of a child in another country is harder. Is it because they aren't in front of us? It disturbs me how easy it is for me to just click through the pictures of kids that are looking for sponsors...to take a look and then move right along without doing anything....my prayer today is that God would break my heart for the things that break His. If you are ready to become a World Vision Sponsor, which can be scary, rewarding, and life-changing all at the same time, please click on the World Vision banner on our homepage. That will take you to the pics/bios of the children in our Fish Village in Zambia, Makungwa. Look for Stella's pic! If you don't see it, it might mean that someone else is considering sponsoring her. Stella is the gal that I talk about on my show today. She is 12, and that means that time is running out for her to find a sponsor...the kids are only eligible for the program up until a certain age. Look at her sweet face, and look at how she is in a shirt that is dirty and too big for her...the kids always seem to dress up in their finest clothes, so chances are this is the nicest (or the only) shirt that she owns. Your sponsorship will provide her with hope and the basic necessities: things like access to clean water, improved nutrition, educational opportunities, medical care...and maybe even her first new, clean, properly-fitting shirt.
Okay, I just realized how much I wrote there on World Vision, but this is truly a program that I am so passionate about because I have seen with my own sponsored children how their lives can change. Hey, if you do decide to sponsor, will you email or shoot us a tweet (www.twitter.com/kfsh) so we can share the great news?
Please, please pray for Matt of Sanctus Real (they sing "Forgiven") and his family. He and his wife just found out that their baby has a heart defect. Please join all of us in praying for a miracle!!! I"ll keep you updated as I hear news, and please let us know how we can pray for you.

If you are caring for your mom or dad, but you are feeling overwhelmed and in need of help, I hope that you will call or visit Acacia Adult Day Services in Garden Grove! I stopped by a few weeks ago to meet everyone and take a look around (my dad is in his 80s), and I was so impressed by what a beautiful, warm, and FUN place it is. There's a workout room with all kinds of physical therapy/gym equipment (I saw some really cute older ladies chatting while on bikes!), a lovely outdoor garden, a bright and sunny main room where some of the guests were helping to prepare lunch, and so much more. Plus, the staff is amazing! Your mom or dad could spend the day here while you work or just take a break (I think most people don't understand how tough it is to care for someone 24/7....caregivers are truly amazing), and they'll have fun making friends and doing activities while Acacia's trained, wonderful staff supervises everything. You can visit www.acacia-services.org for directions and their phone number.
Our friend Rob from Rockwell's Bakery in Villa Park sent this awesome video of MercyMe performing last Thursday! Check it out...Just click on the video and once it starts playing you can click it again to enlarge. https://email.salem.cc/exchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL=http://www.rockwellsbakery.com/press.html
What games do your kids love to play? My son Dallas, who is 21 weeks today, LOVES peek-a-boo! He'll pull his bib up over his head and then yank it down and laugh hysterically! I love to hear stories about your kids, whether they are 21 weeks or 21 years. :-) Email me at lara@thefish959.com

FISHFEST!!!!!
Do you know how hard it was to not let it slip who is going to be at the show?! Thank goodness we can talk about Fishfest now!!! We are so excited for you to join us on June 12. :-) The way to get the BEST seats is to RSVP to Fishfest on our Facebook page, and then you'll be sent a password to get in on the presale. Who are you excited to see? Have you been to Fishfest before, and what do you remember about going? Email me at lara@thefish959.com. Two months to go!!!
When I saw David Crowder last week I told him how much "How He Loves" means to so many of you, and he seemed so touched. What a beautiful reminder that God knows us! I remember that my great granny used to tell me she loved me "to the moon and back," and the way God loves us is so far beyond that that we can't even begin to really comprehend it.
Thurday = Tax Day. 'Nuff said. :-)
I hope your week is off to a fabulous start!!! Thank you for spending Monday with us--we will be here to keep you going all week with positive music.

FREE TENTH AVENUE NORTH SONG!!!
We are SO excited for the new Tenth Avenue North album, When The Dark Meets The Light. How 'bout getting a free song from them? And from Revive? Check out our homepage for the link.
Bring your best (four-legged) friend and join our Street Team at Whole Pets in Tustin tomorrow! We'll be there from noon-2.
If you were at the Rock 'N Worship Road Show last night, you were the FIRST to find out the FISHFEST lineup!!! We'll "officially" announce it Monday morning starting at 6 a.m., and you'll have a chance to win tix. Plus, if you go to our Facebook page and rsvp, you'll get a password for a special ticket presale.
And speaking of last night's show, I have a question for you: Why did you go? Or why didn't you go? With Crowder, MercyMe, Franny B, and more, and tix only $10, I thought the show would sell out, but it didn't. Do you tend to stay away from weeknight shows because you have to be up early for work/school? Was it too far of a drive? Maybe you love the artists but don't like going out to concerts and dealing with parking, lines, etc.? Let me know at lara@thefish959.com.

MERCYME RULES!!!
Okay, we know that MercyMe writes incredible songs. BUT...did you know this band also has a HUGE heart? They are on a huge tour right now and super busy, but they found time to host a breakfast this morning at Rockwell's Bakery for our Listener Lovewells, collect canned food donations, and then serve lunch at the OC Rescue Mission!!!!! AND they will playing at Long Beach Arena tonight. Please remind me to never complain that I am busy ever again. :-)
And speaking of our Listener Lovewells...we did a whole contest where we asked you to nominate the person in your life who loves well. I was feeding Dallas his rice cereal this morning and listening to the broadcast with tears in my eyes. Yes, now that I'm a mom I cry at everything, but our winners (and everyone nominated) are truly amazing. One gal that had a rough childhood has founded a Single Moms Ministry to give much-needed support to moms and kids. Isn't that amazing how God took her pain and is now using her to bless so many other people? He will do the same for YOU. God bless all of you!
And btw...if you were following us on Twitter (www.twitter.com/kfsh) you would have gotten some updates and Twit Pics on our big day with MercyMe. :-)
To puree or not to puree....that is how my friend Jodi put it when I asked about making your own baby food, which my hubby wants "us" to do for Dallas. Here's what Jodi said about her experience:
That is too funny about making your own baby food. I had grand thoughts of doing that...before Calvin was born. I found some organic baby food at the health food stores and I would buy that which was like making it, since it was pure, but saved a lot of time. We had a friend who would puree whatever they were having for dinner (steak, potatoes, carrots - whatever) and give it to the baby. He grew up not a picky eater, so I guess it works.
And Carol shared this:
Had to laugh when I heard your request for advice on this
I did both. On child #1 - every weekend I steamed or microwaved carrots and spaghetti squash and various veggies. I even pureed turkey breasts for my daughter. I would freeze the puree in ice cube trays and that made it easy to transport to the baby sitter too.
The pros: My daughter loved it and it felt good to be providing her the wholesome homemade food.
The cons: She turned her nose up at any veggies or meat out of the jar - which made "picnic" lunches on the go a bit difficult.
On child #2 - I was still a working mom and just knew that it wasn't an option. To tell you the truth my son ended up being a healthier eater and less afraid of veggies than my daughter. Go figure!
Whatever you choose, time spent feeding our babies is always precious - enjoy!
That is so true! Thank you, Carol and Jodi! I love hearing YOUR stories, so please email anytime: lara@thefish959.com.
Saturday is the Hallelujah Jubilee at Six Flags Magic Mountain! Britt Nicole, Thousand Foot Krutch, and Relient K will be performing. Here's a link for ticket info: http://www.kkla.com/ContentPages/1596/

JOIN US AT ROCKWELL'S BAKERY TOMORROW!!!
MercyMe will be collecting canned food donations for the OC Rescue Mission at Rockwell's in Villa Park from 6-9a tomorrow. I hope you can swing by on your way to work!!! Let's get so much food for OCRM that they won't have room for all of it. :-) AND you can hear MercyMe on the Morning Show--they are taking over. AND you can see them tomorrow night with David Crowder Band, Sidewalk Prophets, Franny B and more at Long Beach Arena with the Rock 'N Worship Road Show. Tix are just $10 at the door, and you can get all the info in our Station Events section.
I was running errands yesterday and realized that I had pureed carrots (thank you, Dallas!) stuck in my bangs...AFTER I got home. No one said a word! Maybe it's kind of like when you see someone with TP stuck to their shoe. You don't want them to keep walking around like that, but you are afraid they will take their embarrassment out on YOU for being the messenger. Tell you what--if you see me at the Crowder show tomorrow with peas, carrots, or sweet potato on my person, please tell me! I will give you a hug. :-)
There are so many World Vision children in our Fish Village in Zambia, Makungwa, with April birthday! Just click on the World Vision banner on our homepage, and you can scroll through and see their little faces and read their bios. All of these children are up for sponsorship because their parents aren't able to provide the basics, like food and clean water and medical care, for them. YOU can change a life!
Prayer Request: Please pray for Ralph and his family. Their baby son son died suddenly on Sunday...I can't stop crying as I type this, because it is just too awful to even imagine. I wish I knew what to say to bring comfort at a time like this, but please pray that somehow they would have peace and strength. I wanted to post these lyrics to "Held" by Natalie Grant, because I think this song really says it all.
Two months is too little.
They let him go.
They had no sudden healing.
To think that providence would
Take a child from his mother while she prays
Is appalling.
Who told us we'd be rescued?
What has changed and why should we be saved from nightmares?
We're asking why this happens
To us who have died to live?
It's unfair.
Chorus:
This is what it means to be held.
How it feels when the sacred is torn from your life
And you survive.
This is what it is to be loved.
And to know that the promise was
When everything fell we'd be held.
This hand is bitterness.
We want to taste it, let the hatred know our sorrow.
The wise hands opens slowly to lilies of the valley and tomorrow.
(Chorus)
This is what it means to be held.
How it feels when the sacred is torn from your life
And you survive.
This is what it is to be loved.
And to know that the promise was
When everything fell we'd be held.
Bridge:
If hope is born of suffering.
If this is only the beginning.
Can we not wait for one hour watching for our Savior?
(Chorus)
This is what it means to be held.
How it feels when the sacred is torn from your life
And you survive.
This is what it is to be loved.
And to know that the promise was
When everything fell we'd be held.

DID U MAKE YOUR OWN BABY FOOD?
Here's Dallas, about to chew on his toes. :-)
Did you make your own baby food? My hubby has announced that "we" should start doing that, although I'm not sure when I will find time to clean, steam, puree, and then freeze everything (we are still not getting much sleep...this, too, shall pass). Did you make your own baby food? How did it go, and do you have any tips? lara@thefish959.com I would love to hear your stories!!! And please share your pics, too.
Please, please, please check out the trailer for Letters To God, and go see it this weekend! This movie looks incredible. I don't want to give anything away, so I will just say go to our Station Events section, enter to win the trip to Orlando, and then click on the pic for the movie's site and trailer. Make sure you have some kleenex handy (in my case, I needed a dishtowel...I will need a beach towel for the movie, I think), and prepare to be incredibly moved.
Go ANGELS!!! Did you see what they're up to tonight? Our Station Events Section has ticket info. :-)
Be part of history! On Tuesday April 6th, Angel fans will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for "The Largest Gathering of People Wearing a Fleece Blanket." All fans in attendance for the Angels and Minnesota Twins game will receive a free Angels Hideki Matsui Blankie courtesy of Konica Minolta. During the game, Guinness Book will authenticate the world record, with a special ceremony, and all fans will be part of history!

MONDAY STUFF!!!
I read a wonderful devotional from Max Lucado over the weekend that said this:
Life's mishaps are only a page out of a grand book. We must be slow about drawing conclusions...we must reserve judgment on life's storms until we know the whole story.
I hope that this brings you comfort today if you are walking through something where you just don't understand why God has allowed this. It's not over yet! Hold fast to your faith, and trust that God is in control and knows what He is doing. And please let us know how we can pray for you! lara@thefish959.com.
Are you a fan of The Fish on Facebook? We did a FB only contest last week and gave away LA Galaxy tix! Who knows what great prize will be next? :-)
Emma in Downey loves to see her little daughter rockin' out to the positive music on The Fish? What songs do YOUR kids love?
Will you keep Christina and her son in your prayers today? She got some really tough news about a family member recently, and she and her son are both struggling to find peace. Please pray that she would be able to focus on things Above, and that she would be strong and courageous through this tough time. Thank you!
Perhaps you've heard that MercyMe will be hosting the morning show on Thursday? It'll be live from Rockwell's Bakery in Villa Park, and it would be awesome if you would stop by with a canned food donation from 6-9 a.m. I heard a rumor that one of the guys from MM will be collecting the donations! And don't forget that they're at Long Beach Arena that night with the Rock 'N Worship Road Show. Tix are $10 at the door, and you can get all the info in our Station Events section. Yay!

Yay!

RISE AGAIN!!!
Go ahead, drive the nails in My hands;
Laugh at me... where you stand.
Go ahead, and say it isn't Me;
The day will come... when you will see.
(Refrain)
'Cause I'll rise.... again;
Ain't no power on earth can keep Me down!
Yes, I'll rise... again;
Death can't keep Me in the ground.
Go ahead, mock My name;
My love for you is still the same.
Go ahead, and bury Me;
But very soon, I will be free!
(Refrain) (Instrumental bridge)
Go ahead, and say I'm dead and gone,
But you will see that you were wrong.
Go ahead, try to hide the Son;
But all will see that I'm the One!
(Final refrain)
'Cause I'll come again!
Ain't no power on earth can keep me back!
Yes, I'll come again;
Come to take My people back.
He is risen!!!

PRAYER REQUEST
I just got this from one of our listeners:
Would love it if you could ask any prayer warriors you know to pray for my sister-in-law's ex-husband. I'm praying that God softens his heart and opens his eyes to the pain and damage he's causing to her and their kids.
Would you keep this family in prayer today? It's Easter, and as we celebrate all things being made new, we pray that God would touch this man's heart and give this family a new way of relating. God softened my heart after years of rebellion, so I can say that miracles do still happen.
Grace Baptist Church in Santa Clarita has a Passion Play that is on through Saturday. And Big Wave Dave will be there Saturday! Check out http://www.fish959.com/Article.asp?id=1752500&spid=18252 for details.
Are you a Facebook friend of The Fish? Pamela listens to us online in Mississippi and posted the cutest note on our wall: "I like y'all." We love you, Pamela!!!
Am I the only one whose allergies are going NUTS? My babysitter asked me if I was okay because my eyes were red and I kept blowing my nose!
What are your plans for Easter? Maybe a Maundy Thursday service today, a Good Friday service tomorrow, or a Sunrise Service on Sunday? Email me at lara@thefish959.com.
